While there is plenty of nature to discover in the Kawaguchiko area, I'd like to introduce you to the Kawaguchi-ko Herb Festival, held here annually in June and July, during which you can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, all while surrounded by blooming lavender and other herb flowers.

The Shibazakura (Lawn Cherry) Festival was always something I had wondered about. In all my three experience in Japan, I had not even set foot at the festival. This year came around and I put my foot down. It was now time to visit the famous Shibazakura Festival.

It’s at the foot of Mount Fuji. “Fujisan” towers over “Fuji-Q” Highland, so, as you zip around the park on one of the fastest roller coasters in the world, stumble terrified out of the “Haunted Hospital”, or happen to glance up as you are ice-skating around a light-up winter wonderland, there it is.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit two flower festivals located near the base of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture. My first destination was the Shibazakura Festival located at the Fuji Lake Motosu Resort. Next, I made my way to the Tulip Festival inside of Grinpa Amusement Park in Susono, Japan. Each festival had a variety of beautiful flowers to enjoy and great views of Mount Fuji.
