Contrary to many seated Buddha statues, the Ushiku Buddha statue stands at a marvelous height of 120 metres, with a 10 metres base and 10 metres lotus platform. What you see in pictures are nothing compared to what meets the naked eye.
A few rather popular activities here in Japan during summer are hiking, beach surfing and picnics. I present a summer’s day in Zushi, Kanagawa, consisting of a relaxing and scenic hike at Mount Takatori (with different start and end points), finished off with a stroll in the beach.
An often-missed sight is Mount Shosha, located 6km away up north from Himeji Castle. Mount Shosha is located in Shoshazan Engyo-ji, a national heritage site famous for its scenes from the 2003 movie "The Last Samurai".

Hokkaido is known as a famous travel location to many, especially during winter season. The first thought that comes to mind when arriving in Hokkaido during the winter is skiing and winter sports but what can travelers do given one week to trek around?
Kagoshima prefecture is located in the Kyushu region, down south in a lovely, peaceful part of Japan. It brings a strong sense of home and serenity upon arrival at this beautiful scenic spot. It is warmer than most parts of Japan during winter season and is a great travel sightseeing spot with lots of charming scenery. Driving around is highly recommended, as you breathe in the beautiful natural sights that Kagoshima has to offer.
