The world cultural heritage site; Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima Island, Hiroshima is famous for its Giant red Torii standing in the middle of the sea.

Since the whole island of Miyajima Island has been respected as "The island of God", people in those time considered that they should not build on the sacred land, and finally built the place of worship in the middle of sea where the tide rises and falls in 593 A.D

This famous tourist sport has good access; reachable in 40 minutes from the center of Hiroshima city, and 90 minutes from the airport of Hiroshima.

Miyajima Water Fireworks Display is delightful event with 5,000 shots displayed from a boat off the shore of Giant Trii. The climax is 200 shots of fireworks thrown into the sea from the boat that you can not see in any other fireworks festivals.

This festival will take place on August 11 from 19:40 lasting one hour.
The date for this festival has been postponed from August 11th to 13th due to the typhoon Halong, and it will start from 19:40 lasting one hour.

It is expected the traffic will be congested before and after. Scheduling g enough time for transportation is highly recommended on this day.
