The 50th anniversary of reconstruction of Togo Jinja Shrine will be celebrated with a difference. The 1st Togo Nikujaga Charity Event will be held on November 11th, 2014. Enjoy eating “Togo Nikujaga” prepared following the recipe personally given by Heihachiro Togo, the god of victory.

“Nikujaga” recognized as the No.1 Japanese style home-cooked meal, something all men yearn for from their girlfriends. Though not a traditional delicacy from days gone-by, but legend has it that Nikujaga was concocted as a delicacy by General Heihachiro Togo in his efforts to reproduce the beef stew he ate in Portsmouth, UK, where he was studying as a naval officer.

JPY 105 only is all that is needed to give your taste-buds a rare delight of "Togo Nikujaga" at the Event. And, if you add another JPY 5 (105 + 5) to it you will receive a “5-yen kachi mamori or amulet” as a memory of the “Go-en (fate)” which brought you to the shrine.

The “Togo Nikujaga” will be offered as a side-dish for the curry lunch to be held every Wednesday post charity event at “Harajuku Togo Kinenkan.”
