Hakone, a popular tourist destination, is situated in just an hour-journey away from Tokyo.  This is a significant event in which the Daimyo procession parade through the streets of Hakone, with the voice of forerunner, shouting “Shitani! Shitani! (Heads down, heads down)”. The festival is held every year on November 3rd. Let us show you the highlight of this spectacular parade and the festival:

The best part of the Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu parade is a parade consists of total of 170 people including whifflers, servants, travel boxes, bird-feathered spears, bows, rifles, foot soldiers, pages, daimyo (feudal lords), chief retainers, Daimyo palanquin, female servants, waiting maids, and large chests.
