I never planned on living in Japan, but I visited it to ask the woman of my dreams to marry me while she studied at Osaka University. After climbing the Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, I gained a wife and a deep interest in Japan was instilled in me. We decided from there it was best to return after finishing our time in university.
Daniel Adams is a historian, videographer, and former barista enjoying the peaceful lifestyle of Aomori Prefecture with my wife, now an English teacher. I received a B.A. in History, with a focus on early modern history of Japan, the Middle East, and the British Empire.
I enjoy traveling and documenting the northern reaches of Honshu with its cool climate and picturesque environs and lesser-told, but nonetheless deep history.
