Visit Akita for Japan's largest fireworks festival "Omagari National Firework Competition Festival"!
On Saturday of the fourth week of August each year, the most famous and largest firework festival will take place in Daisen city, Akita, a part of Tohoku region (scheduled on August 23 for this year).
At our fireworks festival, those participating fireworks masters are to shoot their own masterpieces in the air. There is no other fireworks festivals that are granted to call themselves as "Fireworks Competition Festival" except for our "Omagari National Fireworks Competition Festival".
Every year, the sky is filled with the passion of those fireworks masters and their beautiful fireworks that gather nationwide. It has attracted over 0.8 million sightseers in 2010.
Each year, emerge in the dark and vast sky at night are those fantastic fireworks with stories and musical images behind them.
