The top priority of travellers to Japan is to explore the local food like Sushi, famous for having a long history of cultural consumption or, takoyaki, okinomiyaki and yakisoba especially in Osaka. But sometimes they do want a little taste of home if the travellers belong to the west; burritos, macaroni and cheese or a fancy hamburger (no not McDonalds) to keep your belly full and body energized to keep on walking and playing around town.
Osaka's popular areas, Shinsaibashi and Namba, are great tourist destinations, but just across Yotsubashi street is the fashionable area of Horie. Divided into two sections Kita-Horie and Minami-Horie, each with their own unique shops and restaurants. Kita-Horie offers some of the wonderful western flavours that you're looking for in Osaka.
Japanese owned restaurant serving San Fransico style burritos alongside other delicious mexican style food; nachos, quesadilla, and enchiladas (sorry no tacos). Choice of fillings and toppings include chicken, beans or beef. They have also jumped on the craft beer bandwagon and you can find a small variety of different craft bottles, selections change depending on sales, but you'll always be able to find Tecata or Modello. El Zocalo doesn't have a website, but if you need additional information search the name on Facebook to find the restaurants page.

Bistro New Orleans
American born in the heart of New Orleans owner C.C. Haydel serves up the best home cooked recipes of Creole country. Try the special fried catfish with hush puppies or the spicy gumbo, but my personal favorite is the macaroni and cheese. Other dishes include red beans with rice, black beans with rice, crabmeat au gratin, chaurice sandwich and a selection of wonderful bread pudding deserts. The nice atmosphere and friendly owner make for a pleasurable dining experience. Check the website for special events and musical guests playing jazz, pop or DJs spinning old-school hip-hop.
