Photo：istolethetv on flickrWhen thinking about Japanese animation, Akihabara is the place that usually comes to mind. However, a lot of famous animation production companies actually have their offices in Nakano, a culturally diverse town in Tokyo often called the “holy land of Japanese subculture”. You can find many Japanese subculture shops in the Nakano Broadway shopping mall in front of Nakano station.
Mag Festa consists of three fun events.
Photo：hydlide on flickrThe parade will be held twice during the day, in the morning and afternoon. You can attend the parades twice in different costumes if you want to, since a changing room will be prepared in a nearby public facility.
Photo：kazamatsuri on flickrAn opening ceremony and unique performances by cosplayers will be shown on a temporary stage in front of Nakano SUNPLAZA.
Photo：hydlide on flickrMAG Quest is an interactive outdoor game in which you are required to complete missions with other cosplayers.
Cosplaying in Nakano is definitely the best way to discover this land of subculture!
